Dr. Kristina Laughman is an Ohio native and graduated from Ohio State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She has been practicing in Columbus, Ohio at Lifetime Pet Wellness Center which has fostered her desire to practice integrative medicine.
Dr. Laughman is certified in Veterinary Chinese Herbal Medicine and uses this knowledge to give her patients well-rounded care. Her career in Veterinary Medicine was fueled by her love for animals even at a young age. She grew up participating in dog projects in the local 4-H club and has kept this hobby into adulthood, participating in obedience, rally, and showing in the breed ring. Today, she has 3 dogs, a cat, and a loving husband to support her and her interests. Dr. Laughman will be presenting “Veterinary Chinese Medicine 101,” which will teach basics on why this field of medicine is growing in popularity in human and veterinary medicine in the western world.
It is really interesting to see Dr Kristina Laughman bringing Veterinary Chinese Herbal Medicine to the National Specialty. I’ve noticed a lot more pet owners turning towards integrative medicine lately, so having a session dedicated to the basics makes absolute sense. It actually reminds me of a conversation I had recently with a friend who was helping her daughter figure outhow to write a personal statement for university applications aimed at veterinary science there's clearly a massive shift towards holistic animal care amongst the next generation entering the field. I’m curious to see how open traditional exhibitors will be to these concepts, but hopefully, it gets a solid turnout on the day.
