Breeder Listing Service
2026 Breeder Listing Service
This past year the BOD has updated the Breeder Listing Service for the DDBSA. The following was put together to help breeders showcase the strong commitment to the breed and give puppy buyers more information helping them make informed decisions when looking for a pup. The tiers are designed and priced to enhance your pretense with potential puppy buyers and new members.
The Breeder Listing Service is updated to the following:
2026 DDBSA Breeder Listing Service Requirements and Details:
If you are a breeder and would like to be added to the DDBSA Breeder Listing Service located at www.ddbsa.org, the following requirements apply:
1. Be a member in good standing with the DDBSA for a minimum of one year prior to listing.
2. Register all litters with the AKC.
3. Permanently identify all litters with either a microchip or tattoo.
In order to encourage breeders to submit all health screens to OFA to obtain a CHIC number, we are now offering 2 different tiers of listing. Tier 2 will still need to pay the yearly $50.00 but if you obtain a CHIC number on your breeding dogs only, we are offering Tier 1 with no fee for you. We are not asking that your dog pass all the club required test for a CHIC number but to file all tests results whether passing or failing to help give the breed community more information. (REMINDER CHIC # consists of Hips, Elbows, Shoulders, and ECHO of the Heart.~ Exception in case of males who are deceased or who are located in a foreign country. This number is for the life of the Dog, not requiring yearly testing) This is to encourage transparency in our breed and not to attack another breeder. Those breeders that obtain a CHIC number on their breeding dogs only will be a Tier 1 breeder with no fee. Those breeders who choose not to do this will pay the yearly $50.00 fee. This is a personal choice for all breeders, but we wanted to reward those breeders going the extra mile for the breed.
TIER 1:
1. If you are a CHIC breeder with all of your breeding dogs with a CHIC number, there is no fee to be on the Breeder Listing. You must provide the DDBSA Health Chair with copies of the certificate and/or your dog’s CHIC number. Per Kennel/Breeder any additional dogs receiving CHIC numbers must be updated with DDBSA as they are received to remain on Tier 1.

Rua Ri Bordeaux
(CHIC Breeder)

Rua Ri Bordeaux came to life as the result of my first rescue Zeus in 2009. I couldn’t believe what an awesome dog he was & I fell in love with the breed completely.
Fast forward several years & several rescues and I decided to try a show dog. His name was Ruari & sadly I lost him to cancer at 15 months. My kennel name is in his honor. But I was hooked. For me, breeding is about having my dogues with me for life and beyond in their offspring. I’ve been with the breed now over 10 years and can’t imagine my home ever without one. I live in beautiful mid-Michigan in the country where the dogues and I get to enjoy our time.
My first litter arrived in 2019 and I was honored by the DDBSA in 2021 with the Dam of the Year, Top Bred-by Exhibitor, and Top Working Dog awards. I hope to be able to continue to produce dogues worthy of such awards in the future.
Breeding doesn’t happen often here as full health testing must be done first, then finding the right pairing of sire & dam, then the careful evaluation of puppies and homes. One or two litters every year or two is all that Rua Ri produces and that is only when I want a puppy.
I am a member of my breed club along with a member of the Ann Arbor Kennel Club.
All dogs are in my home, part of my family. Puppies are placed based on best fit for their temperament. All puppies are microchipped, vaccinated as appropriate for age, and DNA tested prior to going home.
Please reach out if you’d like to learn more about how I do things here at Rua Ri Bordeaux.
