My friend Nitro is a multiple breed champion, multiple best in show dog, numerous best of breed winner and group winner, Therapy dog, CGC/ATTS certified, but mostly he is a champion survivor. The first four years of his life were incredible with all of his show wins. They said he was too small, but he wasn't, he has a huge heart and he proved it. Then one day he was found paralyzed. He was diagnosed with a blood clot on his spine. Surgery removed the clot. They said he wouldn't walk again without assistance. He walked out of the hospital. They said he would die soon. He didn't. Then the clots returned. My vet said he would try but said he wouldn't make it until September, then every holiday, but he was wrong. I have been told for the past 4 years that he is terminal but he still marches on. Due to all the meds that have assisted in keeping him going he probably doesn't have a long life expectation but no one has ever counted on the very large heart that my friend Nitro has.
