SIRE AND DAM HALL OF FAME
The Sire and Dam Hall of Fame recognizes that the future of the breed rests with those exceptional dogues who consistently pass their outstanding attributes to their progeny. This lifetime award honors those sires and dams who have proved themselves standard bearers of the breed through the accomplishments of their offspring.
Eligibility:
| Awards are presented to the owner or co-owner of the sire or dam at the time the award is granted. | |
| Owner or co-owner must be a member in good standing of the Dogue de Bordeaux Society of America. | |
| Award may be given to any eligible dogue, whether living or deceased. | |
| Sire or dam must be AKC registered or registered with an AKC-recognized registry. | |
| Sire or dam must have DNA on file with AKC. |
| Sire or dam will have been health screened for hips (OFA or PennHip), elbows (OFA), and heart (auscultation by a board certified cardiologist). Foreign sires and/or dams may have comparable health screens from country of origin. Owner will certify on the nomination form that these tests have been done, and proof of testing will be made available to the Awards Committee upon request. | |
| A sire will be entered into the Hall of Fame upon siring 25 titled dogues: |
1. 20 titles must be AKC conformation titles
2. 5 titles may be AKC conformation titles or titles from other acceptable AKC recognized events and/or working titles recognized and verifiable by the Dogue de Bordeaux Society of America Working Dogue Program.
| A dam will be entered into the Hall of Fame upon producing 15 titled dogues: |
1. 12 titles must be AKC conformation titles.
2. 3 titles may be AKC conformation titles or titles from other acceptable
AKC recognized events and/or working titles recognized and verifiable by the Dogue de Bordeaux Society of America Working Dogue
Program.
| Offspring born after the death of a stud dogue or via frozen semen may be counted in the calculation of this award so long as all eligibility requirements are met. |
General Rules:
| The owner or co-owner must submit the Hall of Fame nomination form. All offspring title information provided will be verified by the Awards Committee, using published AKC official records and records maintained by the Dogue de Bordeaux Society of America Working Dogue Program. | |
| This award is not given automatically. Nomination form must have been submitted by January 31st of the year in which the award is sought. | |
| Offspring may be counted only once, regardless of number of titles obtained. | |
| The Awards Committee may recommend revisions to this program and revisions will be approved by majority vote of the Dogue de Bordeaux Society of America Board of Directors. Notification of such revisions will be made to the membership on a timely basis. | |
| Sires and dams will be inducted into the Hall of Fame at the National Specialty Show. |
